End-User Maintenance Products
Sportzing Court Care has developed a cost-effective servicing solution in the preventative maintenance of Sand Filled Artificial Grass (SFAG) sports surfaces, utilising patented technology developed for this purpose. The average court usually requires 1-2 services per annum, subject to court condition, location and most importantly end-user maintenance.
By employing the recommended Sportzing end-user and professional maintenance program, your court surface will perform as designed, with the following benefits:
- Optimal surface life;
- Optimal surface performance; and
- Optimal visual presentation.
Sportzing Court Care offers two key maintenance end-user products that will assist in maintaining your surface and will possibly reduce the frequency of our professional maintenance services. Our recommended end-user products for Sand Filled Artificial Grass (SFAG) are:
- The Aussie Cleansweep for daily/weekly preventative maintenance; and
- The Sportzing DB Broom for monthly preventative maintenance.
Weekly (Removal of surface debris and sand & fibre grooming – 8-10 minutes
Use of the Clean Sweep Mat
- Use at least once a week (before play is best)
- Use after heavy rain or wind-storms
- Walk mat briskly up the court dragging the mat behind you
- Only the back two mat sections need to be in contact with the surface
- Empty rear mat sections of debris when full
- Store mat flat on the ground either on or off court
Monthly (Sand base compaction adjustments – 45 minutes
Use of the Sportzing DB Broom
- Use Clean Sweep mat to clear surface of debris
- Set-up DB Broom so it can be operated in a comfortable standing position
- Push DB Broom forward applying moderate pressure
- Move up & down court so the sand is freely moving, but not gathering on broom
- After brooming court, finish with Clean Sweep until sand levels appear correct
Where a DB Broom is used, professional maintenance services are usually required only once per year.
SFAG Surface Repair Products
Sportzing Court Care has developed an effective and safe Baseline Replacement Kit product for sand filled artificial grass (SFAG) tennis courts. Originally conceived to assist Sports Mirage Gold Coast in extending the useful life of their surfaces in 1996, the kits have become a very effective and attractive option for delaying replacement.
Prior to the Sportzing kit, surface installers and Court Builders attempted to meet this customer demand by cutting out the worn baseline areas and reversing the carpet direction. In all cases the results were unsatisfactory and unsafe adding additional cost to full replacement. Only Sportzing can deliver a successful kit solution with its supporting maintenance services.
The original intention was to offer a product that would be safe to play on and provide an acceptable level of performance. The outcome has been a cost effective longer-term alternative to surface replacement extending the useful life of a surface by up to 50%. The cost benefits have made the Sportzing Baseline Replacement kit an attractive product for all court owners.

The Sportzing Baseline Replacement Kit is now installed at many resorts & clubs. Of note are the five star resorts of Sports Mirage Gold Coast, Hayman Island, Hyatt Coolum at Coolum Beach and Radisson Resort Gold Coast. The SFAG surfaces at the Hyatt Coolum had kits installed and were serviced by Sportzing to ensure the courts were in top condition for CHOGM 2002. Tennis clubs are now installing Sportzing kits, recognising the cost benefits of extending surface life without sacrificing performance.
The Kit is produced as a single unit. Unlike your existing surface, the baseline is integrated into the carpet giving maximum strength to the new baseline area. The fibre density and height is manufactured to replicate the existing surface. The kits are cut and fixed into place covering an area 1.6m forward and rear of the existing baselines and joined to the inside tramlines.
